It seems easier to make sure that you can take care of yourself financially instead of relying on others to do it for you.
It just seems like a lot of work to make sure others keep their pockets open to you.
It would probably be the same amount of work (maybe more) if you’d just learn how to make your own money instead.
Think about it:
- No more butt-kissing
- No stress about offending someone to be cut out of any will
- No more chasing of the wealthy to foot your bill
- No agonizing about preserving your looks to keep rollin’ in the dough
- No mind games
- No asking for handouts or getting an allowance
- No control whatsoever over the financial situation (depends on the whim of others)
Whereas being financially independent (not necessarily ‘wealthy’):
- You answer to no one except yourself
- You feel more confident and independent
- You can make your own way in the world and be proud of it
- People won’t think you’re an airhead for not being in control of your $$
- Less stress because you’re in control of your money, not someone else
Take care of yourself first and you’ll feel empowered to be able to take on anything.
Once you’ve been through any kind of financial bump (hardship or otherwise), for however long, you learn and are proud that you can bounce back and be resilient like nobody’s business.
Just sayin’.
