Don’t be afraid of competition

Being challenged sounds like something you should avoid, does it not?

And who here wants to fight, even if it’s a mental one? 🙂

I remember when I was in school I would think to myself: *GROAN* I don’t want to study!

What I really meant was: I don’t want to compete, and I essentially want to be LAZY but still get the results without hard work.

It’s a good thing I didn’t go down that route but there were tims when I felt like I wanted to!

There will always be someone better, smarter, more attractive and richer than you and having those people around you, pushes you to be better.

Sure, they get off easy sometimes by batting their lashes or just naturally being able to do things faster than you can, but if you were always the best all the time, how could you ever grow?

Avoiding challenges to take the easy way out actually hurts you and your chance to grow and start to feel comfortable in dealing with those challenges.

So here’s my small promise to make myself try to take on more challenges so I can grow as a person rather than being (inherently) lazy and coasting along.

If not, I’ll stagnate and end up being a very uninteresting, boring person.

What about you?
