No, the “Out of Africa” theory was debunked twice, as Africans are missing haploid groups that Europeans and Asians and North / South American Indians possess. Any 1st year molecular biology student knows this. The initial tests were only based on the 23rd chromosome, in which 45 others were excluded, as this would readily disprove this readily. For me, the Uzbek face is familiar. I have many different blood, such as Mongolian, Bulgarian, Turkish, small amount of Italian, also Welsh, Russian, and other Turkic / Tungusic blood. b) This is just claiming to be an average–as in, based on many women of the same group compared and the similarities of their faces averaged. It’s not claiming this as either the ideal face, nor as a standard for every face of each respective ethnicity. It’s merely claiming to be a simulation showing a statistical average among each measured group of faces. It’s a claim of estimation–not a claim of accuracy.
c) It’s not racism. You might think it’s stereotypical, but then again, the entire point of the estimation is to simulate an average (typical) among the various ethnicities. In itself, it’s not a comparison of beauty, nor an implication of racial superiority.
It’s a comparison of the average among various facial physiological differences. Any such implication of drawn conclusions would be to the writers subjective–which, again, there is no such implications drawn. This article’s referencing the results of what this particular instance of research has shown.
It’s merely claiming that if you go to Ethiopia, you will likely find women who resemble the simulated woman representing “Ethopian” than, say, the woman representing the people of “Central Africa”

The study claiming these images as rough estimation of the “average,” where each of these are simulated images are a superimposed “average” among many women for each group. By its very nature, an estimation is going to be crude.
b) There were three African women, not two. Generally, while there are many subgroups in black Africa, and Africa is one of the most diverse continent in the world, black Africans generally are broken up regionally.
According to some classifications, there generally are about four to six generalized groups of black African peoples, generally observed regionally and further subdivided by tribes/groups.
• Central African peoples
• Southern African peoples
•• Southeast African peoples
• Northern African peoples
•• Northeastern African peoples (“Horn of Africa”)

Of course, one could argue that such other nature of classification such as “Sub-Saharan” is based on European terms of African homogeneity, but hey, that’s not the argument anyone around here seems to be making. The system of classification (as with many concerning humanity) certainly isn’t perfect, but people seem to be upset about the wrong thing here.
Folks seem to be more readily upset about the fact that these simulated images of averages aren’t factual to every case of the respective women, particularly the black women. Well, of course, they’re not–they’re averages. It’s a claim to an estimation, not an accuracy or a standard.
c) If many of these images “look the same,” it’s because, again, these images are averages (that is, superimposed combinations of various photos, stastistically-determined), and that many of these various peoples are closer related.
For instances, many Japanese people look closer to Koreans because they share a closer ancestry than, say, the Chinese. The Taiwanese are right under the much larger China, often under Chinese rule, and heavy Chinese mixing has occurred as a result.
d) I assure you, whomever made the images, however biased or misleading they just might be, are not retarded. They’re using a valid means of measure–measuring the averages–even if they didn’t perhaps conduct it in the most thorough manner. Their point here isn’t to mark out “best” or “fact” but to show an bunch of images that each were composed of bunches of images of similar women averaged together.
e) The article wasn’t responsible for the research, nor claiming to represent this research. They’re showing the results, in which the writer of this article found interesting. If you find fault with the results, you don’t have to blame the study’s results on the writer of this article merely showing it.
f) If all you’ve taken from this article is that “Obviously you don’t know any black people,” then you’ve obviously got some insecurities with yourself. Claiming to know black people wasn’t the focus of this study, nor of this article.

About the only good point you did raise was why there was only a white face represented for South African women. on most real face you will have at least one or more traits that are far from the average, that’s why many women are not beautiful.
a simple example :
you have one woman with thin nose and big jaw, and a woman with big nose and fine jaw.
With mixing the both image you will reduce the gap from the average and less attractive traits. The average image can llok better than the original faces by this phenomenom . but in the end none of the both women wil look like the average picture. You will notice the jaw and the nose of the real women.
Well coming from South Africa I really don’t understand how that face was generated. 80% of the population is black, 12% white the rest other. Yet the face looks white with maybe slight African influence or southern European it does not make sense. Was the European population mostly selected for this face ? Considering how it look I would almost not trust the rest of the faces at all.
I would imagine it may be that people sent their pictures in and labeled their nationality and thus the compilations were created – as opposed to actually going to all these countries to take pictures randomly. If more white South Africans sent in pictures than black South Africans, that would explain the oddity of that one.
Asking for wide-spread participation dose not guarantee accurate representation or statistical majority sampling.
I think this is a pretty likely possibility since many of the average Asian country’s women tend to be much darker than those represented here. In particular, I was most surprised by the Filipino, Thai, and Cambodian women. In general, Asians with lighter features are of richer classes while those with darker features work rice fields or on the street. These working class people compose a greater population than those with money. But richer folks are more likely to be polled for these sorts of studies rather than working people without internet or even a camera.
