What love looks like and what I bought today

Love looked like this last night:

(Chicken Wings and Rice)

No you aren’t seeing things.

So how does that equal love?

Well it’s because I was absolutely STARVING on Friday, and my belly was growling for a good 3 hours on the futon couch.

I was prepared to go to bed hungry, because we had nothing left save for what was supposed to be tomorrow’s meal.

I mentioned that my belly wanted something savoury not sweet (or else I would’ve eaten some oatmeal and brown sugar), and BF gets up half an hour later, walks to the kitchen and starts preparing the meal above.

So no, love is not really chicken wings and rice, but the thought behind that meal = C’est l’amour, folks!

On to what I bought today:

You can all thank Little Miss Enabler Arianne for egging me on about Sephora products.

To be fair, I had planned on spending a little bit this month to replenish my stock (winter really takes a toll on your skin), but did she have to mention how beautiful the Urban Decay Rockstar (Deep Purple Eggplant) eyeliner is?

(Swatch from Dazzle and Sparkle)

I took a look at it in the store but (stupidly) decided against it, because I THOUGHT I had a similar colour at home. Turns out, I should have bought this eyeliner.

Really pretty.  The one I thought was a dupe was my Marcelle Purple eyeliner that ended up being more dark navy blue in tone, and matte.

Oh well, next time.

I ended up buying my THIRD BOTTLE (unheard of for me!!!) of Korres Body Butter in Japanese Rose.

I’ve tried the following scents and Japanese Rose is the prettiest of them all, which isn’t saying much seeing as the folks at Korres seem to have the knack for coming up with the most foul perfumes in their otherwise wonderful body butters.

  • Vanilla and Guava = Smelled like cheap vanilla but it was acceptable
  • Basil Lemon = Smells like lemon dishwashing detergent
  • Yoghurt = Great initial smell of yoghurt but then it turns into this stomach-churning perfume
  • Jasmine = Makes me think of funeral homes. Sorry. 🙁
  • Fig = That is NOT the smell of figs in my opinion. AWFUL.

And some Josie Maran Argan Oil (100% no additives) to replace my Skyn Iceland Oxygen Infusion Night Cream.

The eyedropper thing is kind of weird but I can roll with it.

I tried some on my face and it doesn’t “feel” as good going on as Skyn Iceland Oxygen Infusion Night Cream (my review located here).

That said, it does only take a couple of drops for my entire face, it soaked in nicely, had a light nutty natural smell to it and my skin feels good so far.

I like that it’s way more natural, and I’ll give my verdict after I finish the bottle.

Josie Maran Argan Oil is a legendary oil that’s rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, and grown organically in Morocco.

Argan oil is known to have many treatment benefits, including hydrating and nourishing skin, as well as toning and firming. It’s gentle enough to use on all skin types and is believed to help with skin conditions including acne.

I’m also told that it’s great for your hair, but at THAT PRICE? Forget it. This stuff only goes on my face.

Josie Maran Argan Oil doesn’t have:

  • Parabens
  • Sulfates
  • Synthetic Fragrance
  • Synthetic Dye
  • Petro-Chemicals
  • Phthalates

What else you need to know:
The oil is housed in a recyclable glass bottle, and purchased from women’s cooperatives in Morocco to support their social and economic welfare. These cooperatives work within a UNESCO biosphere reserve that ensures the protection and reforestation of Argan trees.

So that has been my Saturday. Being enabled and buying a couple of product replacements.

How’s your weekend going?
