I was going to go through each article and write a bit about it, but frankly, I am too tired to do it right now and I don’t want to leave these articles until 2011.
DEBT & DATING
This has been a hot topic around the blogosphere lately, ever since the NYT article came out on how Debt can Destroy a Relationship.
Well-Heeled (one of my favourite bloggers, although I’m more of an admiring lurker than a regular commenter) wrote a follow-up piece entitled: Debt the Kiss of Death for Relationships and so did Michelle Woo on BlogHer: Dating & Love: Is Debt a Deal-Breaker.
These articles and commenters have had some great, lively discussions on the subject, and I’d be flogging a dead horse by writing more upon it.
Would you break up with someone because of debt? At how much debt, would you find it unacceptable?
ROSEMARY LEMON CURD SQUARES
Lemon Curd Squares with Rosemary (Cook the Book)
I love desserts with herbs in them, and I especially am enamoured with rosemary at the moment, so this is a recipe I’d like to try.
WOMEN, WEIGHT & WORK: WHAT DO WE REALLY VALUE?
An excellent article from Psychology Today entitled: Women, Weight & Work, which talks about how women, no matter how successful, will always be judged upon their weight and appearances.
HOW TO DELETE YOURSELF FROM THE INTERNET
For those of you who want to go “off the grid”, read this article here on how to get rid of yourself from the internet, including a list of all the social networks and how to remove yourself from them.
AND FINALLY, SOME HUMOUR
The crap we put up with getting on and off an airplane by The Oatmeal.
Have a great Thursday!
Interesting reads, thanks for posting 🙂
Yes! I read that article too. At the time, I wasn't sure what to think, but what I believe now is that it would depend on what kind of debt it is.
I wouldn't mind someone with a lot of student loans because I have several. And they are more of an investment (in education), even though they have to be paid off. So I'd say consumer debt might be a deal-breaker for me. Especially if it's in ridiculous amounts or on several different cards with maxed-out limits and such. I know someone who has half a dozen store credit cards – I couldn't deal with that. Who knows how else they will be irresponsible, ya know?
Ohhh, I love michelle woo's blog! I didn't realise she also wrote for BlogHer. Thanks for the link!
Any time! I just realized that I am not subscribed to her, but I do enjoy her writing. *note to self, subscribe.*
