I guess I should announce it.
I am a writer at Financial Edge (Investopedia) now, see my little biography here.
(They’re working on getting our articles to come up with our name so nothing will show up there for now)
I started a week or two ago and these are the articles I have so far, with more to come:
- Debt, Savings and Retirement: Where should your money go?
- 8 Career Risks that Pay Off
- Stay Motivated to Get Out of Debt
You’ll notice that some of my personality comes through in the articles, but it’s like a polished, structured and *gasp* edited version of this blog.
And yes, I get paid for each article, which is nice because I’m making some extra money on the side which I am definitely going to save, perhaps towards my Asia 2011 Trip.
So I hope you’ll head over there and check out the articles as well!
so if you dont mind me asking, how much do you make approximately per article?
is there a cap of articles per month?
Did you notice that under your profile it says " Sorry, no articles"?

Yes I know, it\’s because they can\’t get the website coding worked out yet. It\’s a problem for a lot of people 🙂
Congratulations! I love that web site. As a CPA, Investopedia is my go to source for financial ratios and accounting terminology I'm unfamiliar with.
Thank you! 🙂
Congratulations on the paying gig. You do a great job of giving sound financial advice without sounding preachy so this should be a breeze.
Heading over to read your articles now!
*blush* Thank you. I really try NOT to be preachy but sometimes it\’s hard to phrase things the right way 😀
Ah I see what you mean now 🙂
Thank you so much for the comment. I made a post out of it by the way 🙂 It\’s something I should really answer publicly too!
Congratulations! i’ll definitely be checking it out.
Hey that is completely awesome, good for you, you know sometimes I do wonder what anonymous bloggers look like such as J. Money at budgetsaresexy.com and what their real names are. I know both of you guys have jobs in the real world but at the same time its not as if you're writing about anything scandalous, lol.
Anyway I guess since you are expanding its natural for readers to wonder whom you are. Anyway good luck with the writing, its cool that you're getting paid for it, I'm actually kind of jealous because it makes me realize if I were motivated more I could be doing great things too. Congrats FB 😉
Well I\’d like to come out of Anonymity and give you my real name and show you real pictures of my life… but I simply can\’t because I\’m a freelancer. I don\’t work at a company, and I don\’t want my clients to find out that I have a blog that talks about my money, how much I earn and so on in great detail.
They don\’t know how much I earn by the way, everything goes through a third party broker who takes their own cut on top of what they pay me, so if I post these kinds of money stats, I am violating all the agreements and clauses I sign about not letting the client know my paid rate.
It\’s a legal thing. So yes, it isn\’t \”scandalous\” what I am writing about, but I would have to delete my whole blog and start all over again as a personal lifestyle blog without any talk about my money and so on.
I totally agree that it\’s nice to know who we are, but I can\’t take that risk.
*laugh* It really came out of the blue. I didn\’t ask for the gig and almost said \”No\”, but I\’m glad I agreed to it.
Thanks.
Yay!
