SUPER COOL OR REALLY STRANGE/WEIRD PHOTOS
This one isn’t cool. It’s kind of super racist… I mean just look at the cartoon character.
Makes me think of the horribly-named Darkie toothpaste I’ve seen floating around.
The salt and pepper looked like this: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3054/2345496792_c1…
SO. CUTE. You can probably buy them all over the place, lol.
As much as I adore France, I am not a fan of French food. Esp Lyon!! Pig's feet, tripe, and other "delicacies" were all over the menus. Not a fan. In Paris, I usually stick to cheap ethnic food (helloo 3 euro falafel) and simple baguette & cheese & wine dinners. Looks like y'all did a lot of that, too!
We bought a lot of the cheap stuff and then splurged a bit on things. BF loves pig\’s foot, and I\’m not into the texture… other than that, we fared pretty well.
I LOVE tripe and other offal, but not the foot.
Wow this looks incredible. I am so hungry now. I think I'll have to book a flight to France š
zomg FB… i CANNOT get over your foodie pics! Dying over here.. haha. And macarons at mcdonalds!?? I'm so jealous!!
They were surprisingly AWESOME. Other French snobs stuck their noses up at us when we said this, but… we like what we like.
I am jealous. I remember the fresh produce is soooo good. I just kept thinking "nom nom nom…" while reading your post.
The best for me is the milk š
well, 9 euros is pretty high, but maybe normal paris prices? I know I would pay much less (about 5 euros AT MOST) for two drinks.. but that’s where I live and it’s not particularly touristy.. one good thing about the Euro: it’s sooo easy to compare prices!! before we had different valuta in Europe, and imagine just having to do the math everytime you buy something. I remember when I was little and we where in Italy and my parents used to give me and my brother a couple a hundred lires to buy lollipops and such š we felt really really rich, but it wasn’t really a lot of money really. funny š
it seems you had a great time š food looks lovely! š
We went once, and then I sipped my Coca-Cola like a fine wine.
Honestly, it was awful.
Did you make it to La Grande Epicerie? I haven't been to les Galeries Lafayette in my 4 times in Paris, if you can believe.
I thought the macarons at McDonald's were pretty good too, and Ladurées' weren't better than la Maison du Macaron's in Montréal. That is going to be one hard place to beat.
I saw La Cure Gourmande for the first time in Bruges, but saw it on lIe St-Louis last time… their candies are yummy!
Glad you got to taste Berthillon ice cream… they were closed for a week in November too, when I first tried to get there. But they are so famous that they must make up for the lost business at other times!
We didn\’t, because I FORGOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH
No sweat.
We also did the majority of our food shopping at the Galeries Lafayette when we were there last month. It’s common in markets to not touch the produce – you indicate to the seller what you are interested in and they pick the best ones for you. I bought some spices from that place outside too, they were really nice and my husband desperately wanted the hugging salt and pepper shakers, but we didn’t buy them (we should have!)
The shoe floor in that store is A-MAZ-ING! If only I could walk in heels…
LOL! I didn\’t see the hugging salt and pepper shakers but I wish I had.
I can walk only in 2\” heels, maximum 3… but 2\” is my comfort level.
