It’s time for a change.

OK, so technically my blogoversary was on December 2nd, but I wanted to start fresh in 2010.

Executive Summary

Announcing new changes:

  1. I am only doing personal finance posts from now on
  2. Minimalism & Organization finally has a new home (The Everyday Minimalist)
  3. Style and Fashion has a new home (Style on a String)

I am the proud mama of 3 blogs now.

Thanks for coming out!

THE DETAILS

#1: I’m only doing personal finance posts from now on

This really shouldn’t be a huge surprise to most of my regular readers.

At least, I hope not!

FB(Old)Fabulously Broke in the City started as a personal finance blog.

Only personal finance.

I blogged about my journey to get out of $60,000 of debt with my handy budgeting tool.

And while I will still refer back to it occasionally…

I find writing How-Tos horribly boring and it’s starting to show.

It’s time to move on.

However, I’ve covered a lot of ground already, so take a look at my Money posts, Debt and Saving and Investing & Retirement pages.

#2: Minimalism/Organization officially has a new home

And it’s called…

The Everyday Minimalist

The Everyday Minimalist

Some of you may have noticed this new name popping up here and there on your blogs.

Yes, it’s still me. 🙂

Why the change in name?

But it’s another persona, or side of me, hence the change in the name.

(And the avatar at least gets my hair colour right. But I am definitely not as skinny, Rae!)

Why the new blog?

I felt as though everyone was getting the wrong impression about what being a minimalist meant.
And without a doubt, minimalism has not been a part of this blog lately.

(Big thanks to Concojones, an astute reader who pointed that out to me).

It was in testing mode since September 2009, and I am formally announcing it now.

It’s a more.. dare I say, thoughtful blog.

#3: Style & Fashion officially has its own home now!

And because I can’t keep my designing fingers still, I started a third blog.

I actually debated whether to reveal this site or not, but .. what the heck.

Style on a String

StyleString

Again, new name: Serena from Style on a String.

Full disclosure, it is still not my real name, but it’s an old, not-really-used-any-more nickname I’ve had from childhood from close friends mostly.

It comes from the fact that I used to be really quiet and painfully shy, which everyone mistook for being serene and calm.

Then I left elementary school and started using my formal name for everything.

Revealing myself bit by bit! Eeep!

Why the new, third blog?

Because I have too much fashion/style stuff, and it’s overwhelming this blog.

I’ve also realized that I just like posting too much.

And 3 blogs seems to be a good way to balance out my posts.

So WTF do I call you?

Hopefully not bad names, but anything you choose is fine.

If you know me as FB, then FB.

I am now the proud mama of 3 blogs:

Fabulously Broke in the City

The Everyday Minimalist

Style on a String

Enjoy!
