Eeek! Sorry about the weird formatting.
Yay, a food post!
Hmmmm… I have tried a few of those.
I don't eat seafood, but I did try fried gator tail. I don't know how it compares to crocodile, but it wasn't my thing — too much like fish for my taste.
I have tried cheddar cheese flavored meal worms that I got at a local museum store (Sara Goldstein and Gala Darling can vouch for me on that). They were alright. Not much flavor, sort of like Rice Krispies.
I've also tried a lot of local weeds that should be on that list, lol. In Florida we have a weed that makes tubers that are like crosnes (they're related even). Plus I had some horsemint tea last night.
Love fruit wines, spicy things, baklava, wild berries, heirloom tomatoes, pistachio ice cream, sauerkraut, s'mores, root beer floats, jello shots, gumbo, krispy kremes, big macs, carob chips (yuuuuummmmmm), funnel cakes, plaintains, gazpacho, baba ghanoush, polenta, flowers of various types, prickly pear (picked wild), rice and beans, PB&J, fondue, and probably a few more things on the list that I can't remember eating.
Tried goat milk cheese. Not my thing. Same with spam. Did try lobster and crab despite not liking seafood; still not my thing. Hot dogs are alright, but I'm not the biggest fan.
I generally avoid eating parts other than muscle. However, pork cracklings (aka rinds) are an exception. Had some earlier and they are a rare treat.
Had lamb, veal, a few types of birdies. I've also had deer, though not roadkill that I know of. However, when my husband rolled our car avoiding one of those pesky bambis the cop that found him told him he should have hit the thing since here the law says that you get to keep what you hit regardless of the hunting season or other regulations. Yep, that's the sort of place where I live. Anyhow, deer is rather dry for my taste.
Fabulous post. I like how your links to wikipedia or google image search. Why didn’t I think of that? 😉
wow what a great find! i want to try everything on this list!
Sticking up for black pudding here! It’s actually really tasty, great with haggis, sausage, bacon and potato bread as part of a Full Breakfast. Don’t knock it till you try it.
!!!
I so love the snakes bit. Made my day!!! (Does this make me sick and twisted? Oh, well… my morbid sense of humour is endearing! I hope.)
Lox is so good but do it right and get some in Montreal on a Montreal-style bagel… yummy!!!
ewww lots of gross stuff on there. pretty cool meme though!
thanks for the link 🙂 that snake story is SO freaky.
What about some Spotted Dick? I love going in to Meijers cause they have stuff that you never thought in your life…and this is in the International aisle. It is an English pudding. Since you are being all adventurous!! Have fun! Oh the Hostess Fruit Pies in Apple are good…and I hate fruit pies in general.
Oh, that snake story has got me seriously creeped out!
Good call on the black pudding. Chad says he has tried it & it just tastes like burned blood. *shudder*
I don't know which is creepier: blood pudding or boas eating me while I sleep.
no way! this is an awesome list find!
i’m tried a could more things than you have. i pretty much will try anything once.
Oh I am so doing this on my blog. I wish there weren’t so much seafood/fish on it though! I don’t eat any of that 🙁
Good post!
Hi fabulously broke-I felt sick and laughed at the same time about this snake story-ewwww, it doesn’t bear thinking about, surely the girl must have totally freaked on hearing that from the vets-I think I would have fainted on the spot-haha!! BTW, black pudding is quite common here-hubby has cooked it as part of an english fried breakfast, bacon, fried eggs, sausages, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and black pudding-when its fried, its quite delicious!
